Fonts

1.time to pick a custom font!

Alright ladies! Let’s pick a fun font first!
Visit Creative Market and browse any and all fonts that you think might be a good pick for your brand
Once you have found one you like - all you have to do is download!
Just make sure to save it to your branding folder so you don’t loose it
If it downloads ending in .zip, simply open it up to reveal the .otf/.ttf files

You do not have to use Creative Market if you already have an existing font OR want to work with a free font via Google Fonts. I do encourage it though to really bring your site to the next level!

2.upload to Canva

  • Select “Your Brand” along the left hand side of your canva page

  • Head on over to “uploaded fonts” and add your font!

    • Remember the file has to be .otf or .ttf (if it still ends in .zip, go back to step 1 of this font tutorial)

3. add to your branding guide

Highlight the existing font (Aa Bb Cc …) and change it to your new font!
Type out the name of the font below so you don’t forget in the future

4. Pick your “standard” font

This is the font you will use to write your blogs or use within paragraphs on your homepage, etc.
A few of my favorites are:

  • Joseph Sans

  • Lato

  • Raleway

5. Add standard font to your branding guide

This font will most likely be available within the already listed Canva fonts but if not, start again at step 2
Simply select the other font (Aa Bb Cc …) and change it to your new font!
Type out the name of the font below so you don’t forget in the future

wahoo!

You are chugging along!!
Next up, LOGO!
